Region 3

All over the world there are places that have been called enchanted. They pulse with an energy that brings friendship between man and animals, rocks, streams, fields, etc. These are places that you can look up and see birds that gives you not a second glance from fear. Where unity with nature abounds, this is Region 3. This Region is a place where man has woven itself into natures tapestry. The members of Region 3 are some of OCIPS strongest naturalists and protectors of Mother Earth. Also, with this connection to the Earth comes a great grounding and understanding of why our traditions are so very important. In the halls of meetings you will be blessed by the Traditional Wisdom uttered by Region 3 members. These members give OCIP both an understanding of Mother Earth and the Need to be good stewards of Her Gifts. The strength of Region 3 can be summed up in mental picture from long ago. It is said that man has the ability of two sights or types of Vision, One is the surface of things and the other is what lies beneath the surface. A simple man can see that a tree is a tree and it will make a great table, the wise man will see that same tree and know that it houses a family of squirrels. At night a raccoon climbs up its trunk for safety, birds rest and sing in its branches. Its roots hold water for the forest and on some level this one tree holds the fate of countless creatures. This is but one of the traits that Region 3 gives to OCIP.
