OCIP Treasurer

Held By Chief Mona

Some would view the Treasurer as a new or colonial concept, however the idea of a Stores keeper is as old as our Indigenous cultures. For who kept track of food, resources, etc. in the store houses during the hard times. Yes, the idea of reporting is much more complex these days with governmental oversight. But from the cash given by OCIPs funders, to the many records/reports to the final audited reports submitted to the necessary parties or agencies by OCIP, there must be a store keeper, Treasurer who has the knowledge, honesty, and foresight to keep OCIP compliant. It is not an easy thing to hold the stores in check and then tell others why it was done. But this job is required from the funders and Governmental agencies. OCIP has been very fortunate to both have this expertise and knowledge within itself, But greater still it has the ability to understand the needs of all the many parties. So this important position has been filled with much knowledge and wisdom in these many areas.

Acting Treasurer Chief Mona works with all the many funders, agencies, regulatory bodies to keep OCIP in compliance. Much like a Stores keeper looked after all the many resources and where they should be allocated too. This position is one of challenges and strife; however Acting Treasurer Chief Mona keeps all in an understandable form. Let it never be forgotten that OCIP is accountable to many parties and each has their own desired outcomes. So stretching things to make them all fit is a great skill in this position. It was once spoken that the Sky could not fit all the glory that the Great Creator had put there, so it was asked where did the rest of its great beauty go? The reply was that it was there you just had to move around the earth to see it all. Perhaps this is the greatest skill in OCIPs Treasurer, they have always moved around to make the picture correct and when the picture is correct all the people will see is the right outcomes. OCIP has both in the past and will always value the right outcome or correctness above all else and this is central to its Treasurer.

So know that Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow OCIPs stores or Treasury is in good hands.

With Diligence and Knowledge OCIP Acting Treasurer Chief Mona completes and meets all of OCIPs Financial requirements.
