My name is Kerstin Louttit, and I proudly serve as the Youth Representative for the Ontario Coalition of Indigenous Peoples (OCIP). In conjunction with my work with OCIP, I sit on the National Youth Council with the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples.
Professionally, I am a nurse with the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority, where I provide care in underserved First Nations communities throughout Northwestern Ontario - many of these communities being fly-in access only, with no road access except in the winter when there are winter/ice roads. My work is rooted in compassion, cultural safety, and advocacy for better access to healthcare in the Sioux Lookout zone. I am also a certified Indigenous doula and a certified First Aid and Basic Life Support instructor.
Outside of my professional roles, I remain dedicated to supporting Indigenous youth and communities through volunteer work with Indigenous charities. I also spend time beading, connecting with culture, and being on the land — grounding activities that continue to inspire the work I do.
If you're a youth with questions, concerns, or in need of support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me:
